A groundbreaking ceremony was held on September 8th to kick-off construction on the new Pat Hurley Community Center. The new one-story 5,000+ square foot building will replace two aging portables within Pat Hurley Park at 3828 Rincon Road NW. Deming Public Schools broke ground on Phase 1 of the new Deming High School in April. Currently, the building pad earthwork is complete and drilled pier foundation work has begun. Facilities will be consolidated under one roof in a 2-story design organized around a central outdoor commons. The $46M project will be complete prior to the Fall semester in 2017.

Los Lunas High School students started back to school this August with a brand new classroom building. Phase I construction wrapped up in time for the beginning of the 2013-14 school year. The new two-story building features state-of-the-art classrooms and labs with SMART boards and Wi-Fi.
