Yesterday marked the grand opening of the newly renovated Dennis Chavez Community Center in Albuquerque’s South Broadway neighborhood. The $2.9 million project brings much-needed renovations and additions to the 46 year old center. Spaces were reconfigured and 1,600 SF was added in order to provide a new game room, computer lab, craft room, administration area & lobby. Work also included upgrades to the existing gymnasium, a complete re-roof of the facility, window replacements with both Vision and Kalwall glazing systems, and a complete envelope upgrade. Our team also provided programming and schematic design for a future Phase 2, which will add 4,500 SF consisting of a fitness center, meeting rooms, warming kitchen, and support spaces.
