SCOPE OF WORK Greer Stafford Architects and Planners are pleased to be developing the new Steiner-Lindsey Elementary School (SLES). The District’s consolidation plan (of two existing aging schools) pursuant to development the new SLES is visionary, and the support of the Community in its resounding approval of the September 18, 2007 GO Bond issue commendable and appreciated. The Scope of Work established by the District directs the Architect to address several specific programming objectives. These include development of a: 1. 5th and 6th Grade Elementary School Program Statement for approximately 500 students to be served by 22 dedicated classrooms, 2. Community-oriented Gymnasium with bleacher seating, sized according to (moderate) middle school dimensions, and 3. Sustainable “green” energy-efficient designs and building systems, pursuant to potential LEED Certification if so desired by the District. Progress Updates: Student Coloring Contest Coming really soon, a chance for the students of Portales to showcase their coloring ability. The students will get to select 3D images of the new Steiner-Lindsey Elementary and color their vision of the school. Details coming soon.
