Austin High School Performing Arts Center | El Paso, Texas
The new Performing Arts Center at Austin High School is part of a larger, phased campus improvement project developed as a joint venture by Greer Stafford and El Paso firm, Wright & Dalbin Architects (WDA). WDA lent their historical renovations expertise to the renovations portion of the project, while Greer Stafford focused our expertise in the design of specialized facilities for drama and music programs. The new performing arts addition houses a 350-seat auditorium with stage and ancillary spaces for a drama department and band and orchestra classrooms with ancillary practice rooms and storage space. The addition was designed to hold true to the historic aesthetics of the original school building. WDA completed additional upgrades to the existing historic high school including new roofing, windows, HVAC, lighting, and courtyard landscaping.
