Reserve K-12 School Replacement | Reserve, New Mexico
In replacing this existing K-12 school, Greer Stafford’s design team has worked closely with the District to reduce the core and academic square footage from 71,856 GSF to 36,185 GSF, while complying with State Adequacy Standards. This significant reduction in square footage will greatly improve efficiency and reduce operating / maintenance costs over the long term. The new school will serve the same number of students (190 students and 31 staff) in a compact and efficient campus.
The entire campus has been re-organized and reconstructed with the exception of the existing competition gymnasium, which was incorporated into the new campus design. Site access was re-worked to provide safe access for parent and bus lanes, parking, and athletic access. A new athletic complex was constructed for football and track & field events. All work was planned and phased while the education of students continued on campus using phased construction and demolition to avoid any need for temporary portable buildings and to minimize disruption to the learning process.
