Project Description

San Juan Center for Independence  |  Farmington, NM

This new 11,000 square foot multi-use facility was completed in 2011 for the San Juan Center for Independence — a non-profit organization that provides life-skills training, socialization opportunities, and a variety of other services to adults with physical disabilities.

The new building includes 11 staff offices (with reception area, adjacent board room, file room, copy room and server room), a 3,000 square foot multi-purpose event room that opens onto a large covered patio, a commercial kitchen, and a recreational room for the Center’s clients that includes vending machines, couches, a TV, pool table and computers. In addition to providing ample handicapped parking and wheel-chair accessible curbs, the site design includes a transit stop for the City of Farmington’s Red Apple Transit service.
