Sisler Allied Health Center @ Clovis Community College | Clovis, New Mexico
This new health sciences facility is a consolidation of the College’s Allied Health and Human Services programs, integrated into one centralized nurse training complex. The facility is dedicated to the delivery of nursing programs and training of students throughout the eastern part of the state. The sustainable, LEED Certified building is approximately 37,000 square feet in size and connects by a common pedestrian breezeway/lobby to the adjacent Library/Technology Center.
The Center features a Clinical Simulation Lab that includes nurses’ stations and patient rooms. Students can interact with instructor-controlled simulation mannequins who talk, breath, and initiate real-life situations that students sometimes rarely see or have experience in handling. Other specialized spaces include a Radiology Technology Lab with observation room, a multi-purpose practice lab, as well as various CPR and EMT Labs. These “smart” labs and classrooms are equipped with every high-tech convenience from data access in floors for laptops and tablets, Wi-Fi, projection screens for full integration of technology. The facilities incorporate all the environmental “senses” based on a hybrid teaching philosophy that blends online and in-person instructional techniques.
